15 & 17 Magazine Gap Road - Hong Kong
2002-2003
Commissioned as principal designers by the property developer, Atelier Pacific was asked to thoroughly modernise and re-develop two tired 1960s residential blocks on The Peak in Hong Kong, thereby significantly increasing their value and maximizing rental returns. The makeover extended to the facades, exteriors, public areas, and clubhouse/leisure facilities of the 12-storey buildings.
40 Shang Fang Garden - Shanghai
2006-2007
40, Shang Fang Garden in Huai Hai Road West, Shanghai, is a listed Spanish-style house with garden, built in the late 1930’s. The Client wanted to retain some of the existing features of the property and renovate it to a high standard for commercial office use, by one anchor occupancy or by two separate occupancies. The intended layout for dual occupancies needed to have regard for possible reconversion into a single occupancy at a later date.
Casa Azario, Vaggia - Italy
2002-2003
A holiday escape in a quiet corner of Tuscany for a London based family, the newly built dwelling is boldly contemporary. The form avoids aping its traditional neighbours, yet the facades of hand-cut river rock and contrasting Serrano stone window and door frames speak a similar language materially. In articulation, the elevations are designed for privacy while the south-west face open up to a terrace, landscaped orchard and custom-designed pool.
