In order to promote better understanding of the importance of signing and wayfinding and to encourage greater focus in the design disciplines, industry and education, the International Institute for Information Design and The Sign Design Society organized a 9-day seminar from 3^rd to 11^th  December 2009 in Vienna, Austria.  Speakers who each hold a position or have done remarkable work in this field of expertise were invited to share their knowledge.  Nic Banks, who was one of the invited speakers, spoke about his experience in designing signage systems for transport facilities in Bangkok, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
