At the Cathay City headquarters neighbouring Hong Kong International Airport, specialist facilities expertise was required to handle the building's 24/7 Integrated Operations Control Centre. (...) Emphasis was placed on the custom-design of control consoles in terms of ergonomics, configuration and flexibility. The technical aspect of the brief was particularly challenging owing to the need to integrate complex and sensitive operational equipment. Attuned to the needs of staff working in such a highly pressured environment, the sensitive handling of acoustic and lighting were also critical to creating the most comfortable environmental conditions.
