Shanghai Centre was one of the first and most important, multi-use commercial developments to be opened in Shanghai. (...) Having set the standard for such developments in the city and wishing to maintain the image of the development, the Centre management decided to upgrade the motor court area so as to improve the vehicular and pedestrian flow, make the area more efficient and improve the visual impact of the structural columns. Additionally, the management also wants to carry out lighting improvements in the motor court, on Nan Jing Road and in external public areas on levels 1&2 facing the motor court. These works are to form a comprehensive upgrading programme while remaining consistent with the architectural character of the existing development. Atelier Pacific's role in this project was to provide the design to realize this programme as well as to coordinate the project team. (close)
