Sotheby’s has been involved in auctions for more than 250 years, and has developed a reputation as the premier auction house for the sale of fine arts and other collectibles. (...) These have been exhibited (and auctioned) at a number of venues. However, as the size and range of some of the exhibition has grown, and the local market become more developed, the Sotheby’s team have begun to experience a number of limitations with some of the venues which they have used previously. Sotheby’s are keen that the chosen venue for their bi-annual exhibition of artworks should have a reception / entrance design, exhibition lighting and artwork displays all be designed to highlight the display of the artworks to a maximum and also create a strong identity to the Sotheby’s brand. As such, Sotheby’s have invited Atelier Pacific to assist in the design development, detailed design and implementation services to actualize this plan. Following the success of the design for the Spring 2006 exhibition, Atelier Pacific have been invited back to provide designs for the Sotheby’s Fall 2006, Spring 2007, Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 exhibition spaces.
